Sisters Handmaids of Mary of the Heart of Jesus
The Community of the Handmaids of Mary of the Heart of Jesus is a missionary and contemplative community which, according to its specific charism, offers itself within the Kingdom of God, the Catholic Church and every human being, seeking to contribute to the construction of the new civilization of love, to evangelize them by living and witnessing the Love of Christ.
The Community was founded in 1997 by the couple Tavares de Melo, Ana Rita Otaviano and José. Both missionaries and contemplatives of the same congregation arrived in Rwanda in 2011. One community is working in Kibeho since 2018.
